Famous TV actor Rahul Singh Tomar, living in Andheri (West), Mumbai, has become a victim of the cunningness of cyber criminals. Vicious thugs withdrew Rs 85,000 from his bank account. However, due to Rahul’s wisdom and immediate action, the other Rs 32,000 in his account was saved from being stolen. In this regard, Amboli police has registered a case against unknown accused and started investigation.
What is the whole matter?
The incident occurred on the afternoon of 27 April 2026, when Rahul received a call from an unknown number at around 3:35 pm. The person calling inquired about Rahul’s name, address and his profession. Rahul is associated with acting, so he thought that this was a call made in connection with some new project or work, so he shared general information, but after some time of this conversation, the ground slipped from under his feet.
Rs 85,000 lost from account in half an hour
Within just half an hour, at 4:05 pm, a message came on Rahul’s mobile that Rs 85,000 had been transferred from his account to a UPI ID named ‘Dongri Supriya’. The most surprising thing was that the actor had not done any transaction during this period nor had he shared his OTP or UPI PIN with anyone. Deducting the money without any process immediately after the phone call was part of a well-planned digital theft.

Rahul Singh Tomar filed a complaint
As soon as he realized the fraud, Rahul without wasting time called the customer care of the bank and got his account completely blocked. Also, he immediately lodged his complaint on cyber fraud helpline number 1930. Investigation revealed that the fraudsters had tried to do three more transactions of Rs 12,000, Rs 10,000 and Rs 9,999 on the same UPI ID, but they could not succeed due to the account being blocked.

At present, the police is investigating the matter seriously so that these digital robbers can be traced. The victim actor Rahul Singh Tomar is a well-known name in the TV industry. He is known for popular serials like ‘Jamuna Paar’, ‘The Buddy Project’, ‘Gustak Dil’ and ‘Crime Patrol’. Apart from this, he has also appeared in popular web series like ‘Salt City’ and ‘Industry’.
