In the very first episode of the reality show ‘Lock Up 2’, contestant Akanksha Chamola has made a shocking revelation in front of hosts Farah Khan and Riteish Deshmukh. Akanksha told that she and her husband Gaurav Khanna have been living separately for the last one year and are now getting divorced with mutual consent. There was a rift between the couple since the time of ‘Bigg Boss 19’. According to Akanksha, there is no bitterness between the two, but the couple feeling between them has ended.

New Delhi: The first episode of the reality show ‘Lock Up 2’ has become popular as soon as it arrived on Netflix. Akanksha Chamola, wife of famous TV actor Gaurav Khanna, is also included among the contestants. Akanksha made such a revelation in the very first episode that even host Farah Khan herself was stunned. Akanksha told in front of everyone on national television that she and Gaurav Khanna are now going to end their marriage and both have decided to get a divorce.
Akanksha told that she and Gaurav have been living separately from each other for the last one year, but they had kept this a complete secret and did not let anyone know about it. He clarified that this decision is not the result of any fight, rather both of them have taken this step with mutual consent. There is no bitterness or hatred between the two and they still talk to each other. In fact, with time they realized that as a couple or life partner, both of them were not right for each other because their thinking and needs regarding life were now quite different.
The feeling of being a couple is no more
The rift in the relationship started when Gaurav took part in ‘Bigg Boss 19’. At that time, both their parents had advised them to stay apart from each other for some time, maybe because of the distance they would realize the importance of each other. Even after separation, whenever the two were seen together at public events or on social media, fans and close ones believed that they would patch up and get back together. But Akanksha says that now the feeling of being a couple has completely ended between them, hence they do not want to force their relationship.
Will divorce after 9 years of marriage
Gaurav Khanna and Akanksha Chamola got married in the year 2016 and both have been married for 9 years. Gaurav, who became famous in every household with the TV show ‘Anupama’, had expressed his desire to become a father during Bigg Boss, but also told that Akanksha was not ready to become a mother yet because both were busy in their careers. They did not want to leave the upbringing of the child to a third person. At that time, there was a lot of discussion on his statement regarding society and personal choice, but now with Akanksha’s acceptance of divorce in ‘Lock Up 2’, their relationship has again come into the limelight.
