New Delhi: TV actor Rohit Chandel has been arrested by Mumbai Police. He is accused of molesting a 16 year old minor girl. The girl alleges that Rohit was harassing her by calling her repeatedly from different numbers. He also chased him. Not only this, the matter even reached the level of abuse and assault. According to the police, both of them already knew each other. In this case, a case has been registered against Rohit under POCSO and several serious sections of the Indian Justice Code and he has been sent on remand.

Rohit Chandel is not the first actor to get entangled in POCSO Act and molestation cases. Earlier, in the year 2021, well-known TV actor Pearl V Puri was also arrested in a very sensitive case. He was accused of exploiting a five-year-old girl. This news shook the entire TV industry. From the very beginning, Pearl had described these allegations as completely false and baseless. The Sessions Court had released him on a cash bail of Rs 25,000. However, in this case the girl’s mother herself supported Pearl.

When serious allegations were made against Parth Samthaan
Popular TV star Parth Samthaan was surrounded by legal troubles. A 20-year-old girl had filed a complaint of molestation against Parth. Later, POCSO sections were also added to this case, because the girl said that an incident had happened when she was only 16 years old. Parth had completely rejected all these allegations and called them fabricated.

Singer Papon had to leave the show
Famous singer Papon is also embroiled in a big controversy. In 2018, during a Facebook Live video of ‘The Voice India Kids’ show, Papon was seen applying Holi colors and kissing an 11-year-old contestant. There was a lot of uproar over the video. Assam Police had registered an FIR under the POCSO Act. Papon made it clear that his intentions were not bad, yet he apologized and left the show.

Srijit was traced through the vehicle number.
Malayalam cinema actor Srijit Ravi was arrested by the police in the year 2022. Two minor girls had seriously accused him of performing obscene acts in front of them in a park. The police traced Sreejeet from the vehicle number and the children also identified him. A case was registered against him under POCSO. The court had initially sent him to jail, but later the Kerala High Court granted him bail on the condition that he was getting treatment for his disorder.
