Chahat Khanna recently said in an interview with Subhojit Ghosh, ‘My words are always misunderstood. Even today, if I say something, one line from it is picked up and presented in a wrong way. I am a very secular person. I celebrate Eid with the same love as Diwali. I had adopted Islam and it was my own decision. People said I was forced, but I never said that. I believe in both Islam and Sanatan and do not consider myself limited to any one religion.

My name was getting spoiled…

Apart from this, she said about her personal life, ‘I used to feel very bad, I used to be sad and scared. It felt like what was happening to me. My name was getting spoiled. Some people even said that now I will not get work. However, as I understood life and people, my confidence increased and all these things started seeming small. At one time I myself was confused, but now I feel stronger than before.

Chahat considered herself a lost child

Earlier in 2024, in an interview with Tele Talk India, Chahat had said that ‘I have no regrets on my decision. After the divorce, it took me 4-5 years to become the way I was before. I changed my religion myself for marriage, no one forced me. Later I was told not to worship my God, this is the right way and I kept walking on that path like a lost child at that time.

Chahat got divorced twice

Let us tell you that Chahat married Bharat Narsinghani in 2006, which soon broke up. After this, she married Farhan Mirza in 2013, but in 2018 she divorced him accusing him of mental and physical harassment. She has two daughters, Johar and Ditya, with whom she is moving her life forward.
