Well-known TV and film actor Gaurav Khanna is in the news these days for his new reality show ‘Khatron Ke Khiladi 15’. In an interview given to IANS, he spoke openly about this show, his fears, his approach to work and the change in his career.
It’s not about survival, it’s about growth
Speaking to IANS, Gaurav Khanna said, ‘For me this is not a compulsion of survival, rather it is a part of growth. When an artist does the same type of work for a long time, he feels the need to do something new. In such a situation, reality shows give me an opportunity to reach different types of audiences and learn new things.

No worries about spoiling the image
I take every experience as a learning, whether it is in front of the camera or behind the camera. He said, ‘I have previously participated in big reality shows like ‘Bigg Boss’, where cameras were recording every activity all the time. Even during that time people liked my real personality. Therefore, I am not particularly worried about what effect it will have on my image. Truth is the strongest side. Gaurav said, ‘After the reality show, a special image of the artists is formed, which is sometimes difficult to break. But if you did not allow your image to be limited earlier also, this will not happen in the future also. I don’t want to confine myself to one character or one image. The most important thing for me is that I keep improving myself and keep accepting new challenges.
Everyone feels fear, the difference is in handling it.
When asked whether he considered himself fearless regarding the dangerous stunts and pressure of the show, Gaurav said, “Everyone feels fear, the only difference is in handling it.” Not every challenge is easy, and sometimes I feel nervous. But I always try my best and believe in giving 100 percent to every task. For me, it is not important to eliminate fear, but it is more important to control it.
Influenced by Rohit Shetty and always wanting to learn something new
Regarding ‘Khatron Ke Khiladi’, he said, ‘If any participant in the show becomes excessively aggressive, then I will first try to handle him wisely. But if the situation worsens, I will not back down and will respond appropriately. I believe that it is necessary to react according to every situation. Regarding his career, he said, ‘My biggest fear is that I might stop from doing something new. The biggest inspiration for me is to keep taking new experiences. It is not necessary to be successful in everything, but it is very important to try. Regarding the show’s host Rohit Shetty, Gaurav said that he was very impressed after seeing him in ‘Bigg Boss’ earlier. Now I am getting a chance to work directly with him. His experience and his energy is a great opportunity to learn from him.
