September 17 is the second anniversary of Project Cheetah. On this day in 2022, cheetahs were brought to India for the first time from the African country Namibia. The web series will be broadcast on Discovery Networks in 170 countries in different languages.

The Center has approved the proposal of Project Cheetah web series to be made on the first incident of resettlement of cheetahs from one continent to another. This web series will be made in four parts. In this, the difficult story of their resettlement from the African continent to India after the extinction of cheetahs will be told.
It has been learned that the filming of the web series is probably ‘project cheetah‘Will start around the second anniversary. National Tiger Conservation Authority (NTCA) Deputy Inspector General Vaibhav Chandra Mathur, in a letter to the Chief Wildlife Warden of Madhya Pradesh on July 21, said that the technical committee of the authority has approved the proposal for a web series on Project Cheetah.
The letter requested Shen Films and Plantag Productions to provide facilities for filming in Kuno National Park and Gandhi Sagar Wildlife Sanctuary as per standard terms and conditions. The state Chief Wildlife Warden approved the proposal on August 6.

Project Cheetah: What will be shown in the web series?
- web series Through this project, people will be informed about the difficulties faced in bringing the cheetahs to India, the status of the cheetahs and future expectations and will also be made aware of the intricacies of this project.
- The makers of the web series have approached Madhya Pradesh Tourism and ‘MP Tiger Foundation’ for financial assistance of Rs 50 lakh for the implementation of the project.
- An official said, financial assistance is not possible, but we will provide full support for the filming of the web series. It is noteworthy that till now 20 leopards have been brought to India from Africa.
- Of these, eight cheetahs were brought from Namibia in September 2022, while 12 cheetahs were brought from South Africa in February 2023. However, eight adult cheetahs have died since their arrival in India.

More leopards will be brought from South Africa
According to officials, India will have and efforts to bring back leopards I have also accelerated. A delegation will soon visit South Africa for talks in this regard. Talks are also going on with Kenya regarding the introduction of leopards. The action plan to introduce cheetahs into India calls for bringing about 12-14 cheetahs per year from South Africa, Namibia and other African countries over five years.
