Metro, which is called the lifeline of Mumbai, is in the news these days regarding a film stunt. A video of upcoming film ‘Border 2’ actor Varun Dhawan went viral on social media, in which he was seen hanging from a ‘grab handle’ inside a coach of Mumbai Metro. While this may have been a ‘cool’ action move for fans, the Metro administration has deemed it a violation of safety rules.

MMMOCL warned

After the video of ‘Border 2’ actor Varun Dhawan hanging from a ‘grab handle’ inside a Mumbai Metro compartment went viral, metro officials have raised concerns over safety and warned that such acts are punishable under the rules. Maha Mumbai Metro Operation Corporation Limited (MMMOCL) said that this video should have been accompanied by a ‘disclaimer’ like the one in your action films. However, this post has now been removed.

On Monday, the Metro Authority posted this video and wrote, “Do not do this in Maha Mumbai Metro.” MMMOCL said, “Varun Dhawan – This video should have been accompanied by a disclaimer like your action films. Don’t try to do this in Maha Mumbai Metro.” However, Dhawan’s team on Tuesday evening said that the post criticizing the 38-year-old Bollywood actor was later removed by Mumbai Metro officials and clarified that no fine was imposed on him.

In the video, Varun Dhawan is seen hanging inside the metro compartment by holding the ‘grab handle’, while another passenger is seen copying him and others are watching. It was not immediately clear when and where this video was made. In the post, MMMOCL said that the ‘grab handles’ installed inside the metro coach are only for support and not for hanging. Such behavior poses a threat to the safety of passengers and may cause damage to public property.

The metro operator said, “We understand that it feels good to ‘hang out’ with friends inside the metro, but these ‘grab handles’ are not meant for hanging. A day after the controversy and criticism on social media, Dhawan’s team said in a statement that he respects the rules and clarified that no fine was imposed on him for doing ‘pull-ups’ inside the metro train.

“We would like to clarify the recent news related to Varun Dhawan and Mumbai Metro,” the statement said. We want to clarify that no fine or punishment of any kind has been imposed on Varun. The earlier post has been removed by the authorities, and we are grateful for their cooperation in clearing up this misunderstanding.

Varun fully respects the rules of the city and the efforts of the Metro department.” Many people on social media demanded action against the Bollywood actor as per the rules. One person wrote, “MMMOCL, if you had acted under all the laws mentioned instead of empty warnings, it would have set a great example.
