Despite the Kerala High Court staying the film’s release for 15 days, ticket sales are continuing on several online booking platforms. In view of this violation, ‘Contempt of Court’ proceedings are now being demanded against the film makers. On Thursday, February 26, the Division Bench of the Kerala High Court, while hearing a petition, ordered to postpone the release of the film for the time being.

After hearing a petition challenging the order, the division bench directed the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) to re-review the film. For those who don’t know, let us tell you that the film was scheduled to release on Friday, February 27, 2026. However, viewers were confused as the tickets were still available on the online booking platform (at the time of writing).

According to Live Law, the petitioner is demanding contempt action against the producer of ‘The Kerala Story 2: Goes Beyond’ in the Kerala High Court. He claims that despite the court’s stay on the release of the film, tickets are still being sold online. The lawyers sought permission to file a contempt petition before Justice Bechu Kurian Thomas. The division bench is scheduled to pronounce its order on the appeal today, February 27, 2026.
