Bollywood superstar Ranbir Kapoor is all set to hit the theaters in the near future with two big projects, Nitesh Tiwari’s ‘Ramayana: Part One’ and Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Love and War’. While ‘Ramayana’ has been locked for Diwali 2026, Ranbir Kapoor himself has now broken his silence on the ongoing uncertainties regarding the release date of Bhansali’s film ‘Love and War’.
Release of ‘Love and War’ postponed
‘Love and War’ being directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali is one of the most awaited films of the year 2026. It stars Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal in lead roles along with Ranbir Kapoor. Initially the film was to be released on Christmas 2025, which was later extended to March 20, 2026. However, as per the recent update, Ranbir Kapoor has confirmed that the release date of the film has now been pushed further. Now there is discussion that this film may be released after ‘Ramayana’ i.e. in December 2026.

Latest status of shooting and production
Even though the dates of the film have been extended, the work on the film is in full swing. According to reports, Sanjay Leela Bhansali has recently completed the shooting of a big song and the major portions of the film have already been shot. The team is making every effort to bring the film on screen by the end of 2026. One of the main reasons for the delay of the film is also being said to be conflict with other big films.

Avoidance of clash with ‘Dhurandhar’ and ‘Toxic’
The makers have taken this wise decision to avoid conflict between big films at the box office. Actually, films like ‘Dhurandhar’ and ‘Toxic’ are being released on March 19. In such a situation, instead of making ‘Love and War’ clash with them, a safe window is being sought. Interestingly, Ranbir Kapoor praised the film ‘Dhurandhar’ in his live session and called it his current favorite film. He greatly appreciated the work of the entire cast and crew of the film.
