The biggest clash of this year is going to happen at the box office. South’s ‘Power Star’ Pawan Kalyan’s film ‘Ustad Bhagat Singh’ and Ranveer Singh starrer ‘Dhurandhar 2’ are now face to face. After the pushback of Yash’s film ‘Toxic’, Pawan Kalyan’s film has fixed its release date as March 19 (Ugadi), filling the vacant slot. ‘Ustad Bhagat Singh’ director Harish Shankar has spoken openly on this big clash and has also praised the director of the rival film.

Ustad Bhagat Singh director Harish Shankar said on Dhurandhar 2 clash
The filmmaker talked about Ustad Bhagat Singh’s upcoming clash with Aditya Dhar’s Dhurandhar 2. He clarified that the final decision on the release date was not his alone.
When asked how he sees the situation and whether he is nervous about going with Aditya Dhar’s sequel, Harish Shankar gave a clear answer. Also, he openly praised the filmmaker behind this competition project. He told Gulte, “With all due respect, Aditya Dhar is a better filmmaker. I watched Uri. He is a very effective, very impactful filmmaker. Having said that, India-wide films should look at Dhurandhar as competition. But we have Telugu states for the film. Also, they both belong to very different genres. If instead of Dhurandhar, it would have been SRK’s (Shahrukh Khan) film, the songs would have been full. If there was an entertainer zone, we would think, ‘Oh, this is just like our film.’ But Bhagat Singh and Dhurandhar are completely different films.”
Harish also revealed that the release strategy was a collective call and was not something he decided alone. He further added, “At the same time, it was a decision taken by everyone together. It was not just in my hands. Somewhere, I also felt, ‘I am doing a film with Pawan sir after such a long time, and competing with that film with another big film…’ And yet, whether it is Sankranti or summer, it is always a combination. There is room for 2-3 big films to work. It is not that they are doing big films in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Will not show any other film except this.” The director was also confident that Pawan Kalyan’s loyal fans would come to the theatre.
