The bitterness in the relationship between popular television serial ‘Anupama’ fame actor Gaurav Khanna and his wife Akanksha Chamola has now become well known. Recently, Akanksha confessed in the reality show ‘Lock Up: Sach Ya Saja’ that both of them have been living separately for the last one year and are now going to get a divorce. But now a statement by Gaurav Khanna’s friend and actor Anuj Sachdeva in this matter has surprised everyone. According to Anuj Sachdeva, Gaurav Khanna had no idea that Akanksha was going to create a drama about her personal life and the breakdown of her marriage on national television.
In an interview with entertainment journalist Vicky Lalwani, Anuj said that this was surprising for him too. According to him, he did not know that the couple was living separately for several months. Anuj said, “I did not know that Gaurav and Akanksha were not living together for the last 9 months.”
He further said that he spoke to Gaurav after the episode was telecast and claimed that the ‘Anupamaa’ fame actor was not informed about Akanksha’s decision to bring the news of their separation to everyone’s attention. He said, “Gaurav had no idea that Akanksha was going to talk in front of everyone about the current status of her marriage in ‘Lock Up’.”

Anuj said that despite the talk of separation, Gaurav had decided not to talk about his personal life. The actor said, “And yes, I must say that Gaurav is not airing his personal matters in front of everyone.”

On Akanksha’s statement in the reality show that she now wants to ‘explore life’, Anuj rejected the suggestion that he was restrained during the marriage. She said, “Not at all. Gaurav really loved her a lot and gave her everything she wanted.”
At the end of the conversation, Anuj questioned the timing of Akanksha’s revelation. He said, “Till now, Akanksha has never talked about this in public. I wonder if she is doing this to increase the viewership of the show.”
Akanksha recently confirmed in ‘Lock Up: Truth or Punishment’ that she and Gaurav are going to get a divorce after living separately for almost a year. He said that the decision was mutual and that they gradually realized that they wanted different things from life. They also revealed that their different views on having children played an important role in their decision to separate.
