Bollywood superstar Ranveer Singh’s film ‘Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge’ is headed towards creating history at the box office even before its release. There are still 8 days left for the release of the film, but the madness of the audience for its ‘paid preview’ (March 18) is such that even tickets worth thousands of rupees are being sold within minutes. The premium of the film and the prices of IMAX screens have shocked everyone. While normal tickets in metro cities cost between ₹600 and ₹900, prices for premium seats are three times higher than normal: Mumbai (Borivali): The price of a recliner seat at the INOX megaplex has reached ₹3100. Delhi (Saket): Ticket price in PVR Select City Walk is ₹2400. Average Price: The average ticket is ₹418 for the Hindi version and ₹759 for the Dolby Cinema format, which is double the price of regular movies.

There are still eight days left for Dhurandhar: The Revenge to hit the screens, first with paid previews in select theaters across India on March 18, and then with its wide release on March 19. However, despite the exorbitant prices, paid preview tickets are already selling like hot cakes.
Dhurandhar 2 Ticket Prices
Paid previews of Dhurandhar 2 are scheduled for the evening of March 18, a day before its release. Many theaters across India are starting shows at 4-5 pm, while some screens are holding multiple shows that evening. Audiences have noticed that ticket prices for preview shows are unusually high, with many multiplexes in the metro pricing regular format tickets between ₹600 and ₹900. IMAX shows cost more than ₹1000 in some areas. Premium luxury screens are charging exorbitant amounts of money for recliners. The most expensive ticket currently is from INOX Megaplex in Borivali, Mumbai, where a recliner seat costs ₹3100. In Delhi, recliner price in PVR Select City Walk is ₹2400. Interestingly, despite the high prices, tickets for most of these shows are either sold out or almost sold out.

The average ticket price of the original Hindi version of Dhurandhar 2 is a staggering ₹418. For Dolby Cine format, it is ₹759. Both these prices are almost double the regular prices. Ticket prices for the dubbed versions are also higher, with Kannada (₹445) and Telugu (₹230) also going higher than usual. Due to the price cap, the Tamil dub has managed to keep the average ticket price quite low at ₹166.
Dhurandhar 2 advance booking
Due to the high demand and ticket price, advance bookings for Dhurandhar 2 have already gone through the roof. The film has sold around 3 lakh tickets in India eight days before its paid previews, earning over ₹15 crore in the country. It is already the highest-grossing premiere of a Bollywood film and may break the pan-India record of ₹25 crore (held by Pawan Kalyan’s OG).

Directed by Aditya Dhar, Dhurandhar 2 sees Ranveer Singh returning in the role of an Indian spy in Pakistan. The much-awaited film also stars R Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, Sanjay Dutt, Danish Pandor, Rakesh Bedi and Sara Arjun. Part 1 was very successful, earning ₹1300 crore worldwide and becoming the second highest-grossing Bollywood film of all time. Hopefully the sequel will also repeat its success.
