Of course many serials have been made on ‘Ramayana’ so far. But the talk of Ramanand Sagar’s ‘Ramayana’ was somewhat different. The first episode of the show aired on 25 January 1997. A total of 78 episodes of Ramayana were shown. The last episode of the show was aired on 31 July 1988.
This serial broke all the records of the viewership. In ‘Ramayana’, Deepika Chikhalia played the role of mother Sita and Arun Govil was seen in the role of Lord Ram. At the same time, Dara Singh was seen in Hanuman’s character in this show.
This village is on Maharashtra-Gujarat border
Please tell Ramanand Sagar discovered a place outside Mumbai for ‘Ramayana’, where it was shot. This place was on the border of Maharashtra- Gujarat, about 150 km from Mumbai. The name of this place was Umargaon which comes in Valsad district of Gujral. Naturally Umargaon is quite prosperous.
Umargaon is on the Arabian Sea coast
Trees, rivers, sea and mountains will be seen here. This was the reason that the scenes shown in ‘Ramayana’ looked absolutely real. Umargaon is situated on the beach of Arabia. This place was absolutely suitable for ‘Ramayana’. For this reason, Ramanand Sagar shot ‘Ramayana’ here.
The sets were made
At this place, the sets of mountains were made by wood by wood, Lanka, Mithila, Kishkindha and Kailash. You must have seen in ‘Ramayana’ that Hanuman was shown going to the sea Laghankar Lanka. Not only this, Hanuman was shown flying to bring the mountain.
In such a situation, the same question comes in everyone’s mind that how Hanuman started flying in 1987-88. Actually, Dara Singh was hung with special belts and wire during this period. This scene was very carefully shot so that it could be seen natural. The scene was shot using camera angles, lighting and special camera.
