Panaji. Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor on Sunday announced organizing a film festival across the country in December to mark the birth centenary of his grandfather and veteran filmmaker Raj Kapoor. Raj Kapoor’s old hit films will be shown in this film festival. Ranbir was in conversation with filmmaker Rahul Rawail at the 55th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) here. The festival was organized in honor of Raj Kapoor ahead of his 100th birth anniversary on 14 December.
The actor said the National Film Development Corporation of India (NFDC), National Film Archives of India (NFAI) and Film Heritage Foundation (FHF) and his uncle Kunal Kapoor have started converting Raj Kapoor’s 10 films into HD format.

Ranbir told a packed auditorium of the Academy of Arts here, ‘We are going to organize Raj Kapoor Film Festival across India from December 13 to 15. We will show modified versions of Raj Kapoor’s 10 films.

He said, ‘I hope that you people will also come (to watch the film festival). I remember when I met Alia for the first time, she asked me ‘Who is Kishore Kumar?’ It’s the circle of life, people forget. It is important that we remember our roots.
