Actor Alia Bhatt has expressed deep grief over the massive floods in Assam. In this difficult time, he shared his condolences with the victims through social media and appealed to his fans to help. Alia said that despite floods occurring every year, this disaster surprises us every time.
Alia Bhatt’s appeal to fans
Alia wrote on Instagram that many parts of the country are in the grip of floods and Assam is facing the most trouble. More than 60 people have died and lakhs of people have become homeless due to the floods. Many families have lost their homes, land, animals and loved ones.
“Right now, floods are affecting many parts of our country, with Assam being the worst affected and facing very difficult times,” Alia wrote in the note. He further said, “More than 60 people have lost their lives. Lakhs have been rendered homeless. Entire families have lost their homes, land, cattle… and some have even lost their loved ones. Alia further wrote that Assam needs immediate help at this time. After this, long-term help will be required to get life back on track. She assured that she will soon share information about such organizations through which people can provide direct help.
Alia ended the note using the hashtag #CircleOfHope, writing, “Assam needs immediate relief now, and will also need help for the long process of normalcy. Latest flood situation in Assam
This time in Assam, 25 out of 35 districts are in the grip of floods. By Saturday, 66 people had lost their lives. About 5 lakh people from around 400 villages in Sibsagar and Charaideo districts have been worst affected by this disaster. Around 15,000 people are forced to live in relief camps across the state.
PM Modi talked to CM Biswa
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has taken stock of the situation by talking to Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma over phone. The Chief Minister said that the government is trying its best to reach every affected family. The Indian Army and Air Force are also continuously helping the state government in rescue and relief operations.
