Makers of ‘Oh My Dog’ talk about the film
At the trailer launch of ‘Oh My Dog’, director Amit Rai said that the film is based on a relationship that everyone can relate to. He said, “Through ‘Oh My Dog’, I wanted to tell a story that will be relatable to every family. The relationship between a child and a dog is one of the purest forms of love, built on trust, innocence and unwavering loyalty. Through this film, we want to make the audience laugh, cry and leave them feeling a little more compassionate in their hearts when they leave the theater – not just towards animals, but towards each other.”
Pankaj Tripathi, who worked with Rai again after ‘Oh My God 2’, said that he decided to do the project as soon as he heard about it. “I thought it was an important and important film. I had worked with Amit on ‘Oh My God 2’, and when I heard about ‘Oh My Dog’, I just told Amit that I will do this film, no matter what my role is. The relationship between humans and dogs is built on unconditional love, trust and loyalty, and this film captures those feelings beautifully.”

‘Oh My Dog’ is produced by Amit Rai, Rajesh Bhardwaj and Sana Warsi under the banner of ‘Babulal Biscope’ and ‘Thinking Hats Entertainment’. Its cast includes Mahie Rai, Pankaj Tripathi, Geeta Aggarwal Sharma, Rajesh Kumar, Pavan Malhotra and Sulakshana Barua. Along with these, there are also dogs named Oscar and Bruno and a supporting cast of more than 250 dogs.
Handling the animals during the shooting of the film required a lot of planning and coordination, which the filmmakers considered an important part of the film’s identity.
‘Oh My Dog’ will be released in theaters on July 31, 2026.
