A huge update has come for the fans of Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). Disney and Marvel Studios have released the first official teaser trailer of the highly anticipated superhero film ‘Avengers: Doomsday’. According to the report of ‘Deadline’, this explosive trailer shows the grand entry of iconic actor Robert Downey Jr. as the MCU’s new and dangerous villain ‘Doctor Doom’. Will Spider-Man be in Avengers: Doomsday?
Tom Holland’s Spider-Man is not mentioned to be part of the cast, so there is no official confirmation of his appearance yet. Meanwhile, Holland’s Spider-Man will be on his own adventure in ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’, which is scheduled to be released in the US on July 31 before Avengers: Doomsday.
One reason for Spider-Man’s role being smaller in Avengers: Doomsday could be that both the films were being shot simultaneously. Production on Avengers: Doomsday began in April 2025 and ran through September of that year, while ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ shot during the summer. According to Bam Smack Pow, this overlap may make it difficult for Tom Holland – who stars in ‘Brand New Day’ – to take a larger part in both projects. However, this has not been officially confirmed.

Will the Sentry appear in Avengers: Doomsday?
Yes. Lewis Pullman has been confirmed to play Robert Reynolds (also known as Sentry) in Avengers: Doomsday. He was also among the characters announced during Marvel’s livestream event.
The first teaser trailer also shows returning heroes and teams, including Thor, Captain America, Shang-Chi, Yelena Belova, the Thunderbolts, Nemour, Black Panther, Gambit, the Fantastic Four, and Magneto.

The film marks his return to the franchise after 2019’s ‘Avengers: Endgame’; ‘Avengers: Endgame’ was the second highest-grossing film of all time according to ‘The Hollywood Reporter’. The four ‘Avengers’ films released so far have collectively earned more than $7.7 billion at the global box office.
