Hollywood veteran actor Matt Damon on Saturday expressed his deep desire to work with renowned Indian cinema filmmaker Shekhar Kapur. Damon recalled how he missed a great opportunity to work in Shekhar Kapur’s directorial venture ‘The Four Feathers’ more than two decades ago, which he still regrets. At a press conference held in Mumbai on the occasion of the India premiere of Christopher Nolan’s film “The Odyssey”, Damon said that it has been his long-time desire to work with Shekhar Kapur.

He said, when I started, everyone wanted to work with Shekhar Kapur. I remember for some reason I could not do ‘The Four Feathers’ and I was very regretful about it because I had been selected for the film ‘Bourne’.” The actor said, ”So Shekhar Kapur has always been on the list of people I want to work with. I want another chance to work with him. This is a small loan of about 20 years old, which I am still carrying around with me.

”The Four Feathers” was released in 2002. This was Shekhar Kapur’s second film directed in Hollywood. Earlier, he had directed the Oscar nominated film “Elizabeth” in 1998. This film made Shekhar Kapur one of the first Indian filmmakers to make a mark in Hollywood. Matt Damon has come to India with filmmaker Christopher Nolan, producer Emma Thomas and actor Tom Holland as part of the global promotional campaign of the film “The Odyssey”.
