Famous Hollywood filmmaker Christopher Nolan’s next ambitious film ‘The Odyssey’ is all set to be released on the big screen in India without any cuts. The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has passed the film without any cuts or changes. This means that Indian audiences will also get to see the same original version of the film in theaters, which is being released worldwide. Usually, many Hollywood films released in India have to face the scissors of the censor board, as was the case with the recent horror-thriller film ‘Obsession’. But getting Nolan’s film approved without any changes is a big news for cinema lovers.

According to reports, the Censor Board has approved ‘The Odyssey’ without any cuts or changes. No changes have been made in any scene or dialogue of the film. This means that Indian audiences will get to see the same version of ‘The Odyssey’ that the rest of the world will see.

What is the runtime of the movie?
Talking about certification, ‘The Odyssey’ has received an ‘A’ certificate, which means it is for audiences aged 18 years and above. The ‘A’ certificate was awarded on 9 July. The runtime of the film in theaters will be 172.33 minutes, i.e. 2 hours, 52 minutes and 33 seconds.

It is worth noting that when Christopher Nolan’s previous film ‘Oppenheimer’ (2023) was released in India, the filmmakers had voluntarily removed a nude scene even before the Censor Board gave instructions. The makers had edited the scene using CGI especially for the Indian audience. Now it remains to be seen whether they will do the same for ‘The Odyssey’.
Star cast of ‘The Odyssey’ reaches India for premiere
Christopher Nolan premiered the film in India ahead of its global release. The entire star cast and director of the film attended the event. This is the first time Christopher Nolan has promoted any of his films in India. The film’s producer Emma Thomas and cast members Tom Holland and Matt Damon were also present with him.
Release date of ‘Odyssey’
‘Odyssey’ is scheduled to release in Indian theaters on July 17, 2026 in English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu languages. It is directed by Christopher Nolan and stars Matt Damon in the role of Odysseus. She also stars Tom Holland, Anne Hathaway, Zendaya, Robert Pattinson, Lupita Nyong’o and Charlize Theron.
