Hollywood veteran filmmaker Christopher Nolan and ‘Spider-Man’ fame actor Tom Holland have reached Mumbai for the grand premiere of their upcoming epic film ‘The Odyssey’. As soon as these global stars landed at Mumbai’s private Kalina Airport, a huge crowd of fans and paparazzi gathered. Pictures and videos of both the Hollywood stars are becoming increasingly viral on social media. This is the first time in the history of Indian cinema that a grand global premiere of a Christopher Nolan film is going to take place in India.
Tom Holland was seen greeting and waving to the paparazzi from his car while leaving the airport. For this historic event, Christopher Nolan along with his Oscar-winning producer-wife Emma Thomas and the film’s lead actor Matt Damon have also reached Mumbai. In the film, Matt Damon is playing the lead character ‘Odysseus’ and Tom Holland is playing the role of his son ‘Telemachus’.

Mumbai stands in line with London-New York
Universal Pictures International has included Mumbai as an official stop in the global premiere tour of ‘The Odyssey’. With this, Mumbai has now joined the list of select cities of the world like London, Paris and New York where premieres of the biggest Hollywood films are organised.
The much-awaited India premiere of this film is being held today at PVR ICON IMAX at Phoenix Palladium, Lower Parel, Mumbai.
First film to be shot entirely with IMAX cameras
‘The Odyssey’ is going to set a new milestone in terms of cinematic technology. Filmed in multiple countries using newly developed IMAX technology, it is the world’s first feature film to be shot 100% entirely with IMAX cameras.

Written and directed by Nolan, the film is based on the famous epic poem by Greek poet Homer, bringing Odysseus’s decades-long and dangerous journey home after the fall of Troy to life on the big screen.
Great star cast and record breaking expensive tickets
Apart from Matt Damon and Tom Holland, many big Hollywood faces are going to be seen in this film, including Anne Hathaway, Robert Pattinson, Lupita Nyong’o, Samantha Morton, Zendaya and Charlize Theron. The film is produced by Nolan and Emma Thomas under their banner ‘Syncopy’.
The craze of this film in India is so much that as soon as advance booking started on June 8, ticket prices started touching the sky. The price of premium and IMAX seats in Mumbai and Pune has reached Rs 3,000. At the same time, tickets for some late-night shows in Mumbai are being sold for up to Rs 3,300, which is one of the most expensive movie tickets ever in the history of the country.
After the global premiere, the film will be released in theaters and IMAX screens worldwide on July 17.
