The race for the most prestigious award in the television world, the 78th Primetime Emmy Awards, has officially started. The Television Academy announced this year’s nominations on Wednesday (July 8). This time the medical drama series ‘The Pitt’ has emerged as the biggest contender, having received the maximum number of nominations in 25 categories. Right behind it is the popular comedy series ‘Hacks’, which has garnered 24 nominations. Apart from this, Apple TV’s ‘Widow’s Bay’ has received 19 nominations and ‘Pluribus’ has received 18 nominations, while Netflix’s hit series ‘Beef’ managed to make it to the top-5 with 16 nominations.
HBO Max dominates streaming platforms
If we talk about OTT and streaming platforms, this year also saw the monopoly of HBO Max, which won a total of 122 nominations. This was followed by Netflix at second place with 111 nominations and Apple TV at third place with 87 nominations.
