Telugu actor Allu Arjun appeared in a court on Monday via video conference. He was issued summons in the case related to the death of a woman in a stampede during the performance of Pushpa 2 at Sandhya Theater here in December 2024. After taking cognizance of the chargesheet filed by the Hyderabad Police in December 2025 against 23 accused, including Allu Arjun, the court had issued summons to them to appear before them on Monday. Arjun appeared before the court through video conference and marked his presence.
Other accused in the case appeared in person. The court fixed July 6 for the next hearing of the case. The charge sheet has named the theatre’s owner, partner, manager, lower-balcony in-charge and gatekeeper as accused numbers 1 to 10, while Arjun has been made accused number 11. Allu Arjun was arrested after a 35-year-old woman was killed and her eight-year-old son was injured in a stampede that broke out during the performance of Pushpa 2 in a theater on December 4, 2024. The stampede occurred as fans gathered to catch a glimpse of the actor.
Following the incident, on the complaint of the deceased woman’s family, the police registered a case against Allu Arjun, his security team and the theater management under various sections of the Indian Justice Code at Chikkadappally police station. Allu Arjun was arrested on December 13, 2024 and was released the next day after getting interim bail from the Telangana High Court. Later he got regular bail.
