Meanwhile, Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis has reacted on this matter. Recently, while talking to ANI, CM Fadnavis has appealed to the stand-up comedians to be responsible and not violate social boundaries.
What did Maharashtra CM say?
Chief Minister Fadnavis said, ‘Everyone enjoys stand-up comedy. I myself also see this, but for the sake of entertainment one should not violate social boundaries or limits of dignity at all. This would be injustice to the people. Therefore, I believe that stand-up comedy should be done while maintaining at least minimum standards of dignity.
FIR lodged against the accused
Let us tell you that before the Chief Minister’s statement, an FIR has been registered by Maharashtra Police against Pranit More. FIR was also registered against Himanshu Jangra, Dr. Sejal Pawar and others involved in this controversy. These people are accused of allegedly making obscene, derogatory and objectionable comments about women, consent and dead persons. The cyber unit has also sent summons to the people concerned.

Actually the controversy started when viewer Himanshu Jangra was called for a conversation during a live show of Pranit More. During the conversation, Himanshu talks about taking a woman on a date and spending Rs 370 on biryani. But his statement created anger among the people. At the same time, Jangra suggested that because he had paid for the food, he expected intimacy in return. Following the viral clip, many viewers accused Jangra of treating dating as a transaction. Along with this, he was accused of presenting the woman as something which can be acquired in exchange for the money spent on food. Himanshu Jangra got trolled a lot on social media, he was even fired from his job.
