Due to being single even at the age of 47 and not following the standards set by the society, she often has to face ‘unsolicited advice’. But this time, instead of remaining silent, Shamita has given a lesson to these conservative trollers. By sharing screenshots of comments on Instagram, he has taken on those having such thinking. While her elder sister Shilpa Shetty is married and living a happy life, Shamita has always preferred to live life on her own terms.

Sharing screenshots of the comments on her Instagram Stories, Shamita gave a strong reply to those who were making fun of her looks and questioning why she is not married. One comment read, “You have aged, it is no longer the same.” Responding to this, Shamita wrote, “Yes, I will look different. Things change with time; it’s a natural way of life. Nothing lasts forever, not even physical appearance! But for my age, I am healthy, fit and happy, and my heart is thankful for everything God has given me… and that’s all that matters to me.”

She also replied to another comment which read, “If you had got married on time, your children would have grown up today.” Shamita replied, “So? Yes, you just said what everyone knows… so what? What have you lost by getting married, brother? Most importantly, why do people like you follow single women like us? Just so you can make fun of our age and impose your patriarchal, conservative and male-dominated thinking on us! Please, do me a favor and unfollow me right now.” Give!”

Shamita made her Bollywood debut in the year 2000 with the film ‘Mohabbatein’ and later appeared in films like ‘Zehar’, ‘Fareb’ and ‘Cash’. After taking a break from acting, she focused on interior designing and then came into limelight once again through reality shows like ‘Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa’, ‘Khatron Ke Khiladi 9’, ‘Bigg Boss OTT’ and ‘Bigg Boss 15’.
After meeting in ‘Bigg Boss OTT’, this actress’ name was also linked with Rakesh Bapat. Although their relationship was much discussed among the fans, but in 2022, Shamita confirmed that they have separated.
