TV and film actor Rajeev Khandelwal is in the news these days for his show ‘Tum Ho Na’. In this episode, when Saroj, a contestant on the show, narrated her painful experience related to her husband’s heart attack, Rajiv was reminded of the most difficult phase of his life. He spoke openly about his father’s heart attack and the fear, anxiety and helplessness he felt during that time.
Rajeev Khandelwal becomes emotional remembering his father’s heart attack
Rajeev Khandelwal said, ‘My father had a heart attack in the year 2005. His condition was very serious and the doctors had decided to immediately perform bypass surgery. When I reached my father in Delhi, every moment there was very heavy for me.
The actor said that many times such moments come in life when a person is unable to do anything and just keeps praying to God.
Recalling his experience, Rajiv said, ‘I still remember that moment clearly, when the doctor was taking my father inside the operation theatre. He was unconscious and I was just standing near the door looking at him. At that time thousands of questions were running in my mind. I was not able to understand what to do, I was only thinking what would happen after this door closed. I still remember this fear.

Strong on the outside, completely broken on the inside, Rajeev Khandelwal
He said, “That moment was one of the scariest moments of his life.” When a loved one’s life is in danger, a person feels extremely helpless. For me, that was a time when I was afraid of losing my father. That day I felt the real fragility of life for the first time.
Rajiv Khandelwal said, ‘It is very difficult to wait outside the hospital and wait for any news every minute. No matter how strong the family members look from outside, they are completely broken from inside. Such experiences make a person understand the importance of life and bring him closer to his family.
