He revealed that in the initial phase of his career, many times he was dropped from films just so that some star kids could be given a chance. He told that artists who do not come from film background have to face a lot of difficulties to make their place in the industry.

Struggled before the film ‘Mimi’
Kriti told that the film ‘Mimi’ proved to be the turning point of her career, but before that she had to struggle for a long time. She said, ‘Before Mimi, I was very disappointed many times. I felt that I could do better, but I was not getting similar films and opportunities. There were many such roles for which even after getting very close, they were given to star kids. This was something which was not under my control.

He further said, ‘When you do not come from a film background, you are always afraid whether you will get further work or not. I moved forward slowly, took risks and took decisions thoughtfully. Whatever opportunities I have got, I have earned them through my hard work. I didn’t get anything easily.

Kriti said, ‘There were periods in my career when I was very confused. I could not understand what was right and what was wrong. I signed some films which did not prove beneficial for me. At that time it seemed like nothing was working. Today, when I look back, I feel that those difficult days taught me a lot. Sometimes failure teaches you more than success.

Patriarchy still exists in the industry
During the interview, Kriti Sanon also talked about the difference between men and women in the film industry. He said, ‘Even today, male artistes are given more importance in the industry and women have to work hard to achieve equality. In the initial days of my career, I was not able to say everything openly, but with time I learned to raise my voice for myself.

Talking about work front, Kriti Sanon will soon be seen in the film ‘Cocktail 2’. Shahid Kapoor and Rashmika Mandanna are also in lead roles in this romantic drama film. Homi Adajania is the director of the film. This film will be released in theaters on June 19, 2026.
