He emphasized on the challenge of playing a character like Lord Ram and called it a difficult role that requires determination. He said, “It was very difficult, and it took a lot of courage to get into that character.”
Basu further said that Ranbir playing this character was a brave move, as it highlighted the fact that actors are often pigeonholed into one type of character in the industry. According to Basu, choosing such a character shows both confidence and a willingness to take risks. He further said that based on what he has seen so far, the actor has acted very convincingly and he has also shown interest in watching the film.
The film has also garnered international attention with the response it received at CinemaCon 2026. According to reports, a nine-minute footage was shown at CinemaCon in Las Vegas, which received a positive response from a select audience, further raising expectations for the project.
