Ali Asgar, who has made his mark in the world of TV and comedy, has recently made a big and emotional revelation related to his career. Ali Asgar, who became a household name by playing the famous character of ‘Dadi’ in ‘Comedy Nights with Kapil’, said that he left this character because it started affecting his personal life.
Children were bullied in school – Ali Asghar
In a podcast with comedian Manish Paul, Ali Asgar told that due to continuously playing female characters, he was getting stuck in the same image. He was being given the same roles again and again and he was repeating himself. In the film Deewaar, it was written in Chhote Bachchan saab’s hand, ‘Mera Baap Chor Hai’. It is not written in my son’s hand that my father is a woman because his son was bullied in school and people used to make fun of his character.
Ali did not want to do only one character
Ali further said that those who would be listening would think that he is crazy! Why did you leave? But what was happening with me at that time was that we used to do ‘Comedy Circus’ every Saturday and Sunday, in which there were two acts each and I was playing a female character in both the acts. The situation was the same on Sunday also, so gradually my image had developed into one and it had become easy for the writers to always give me female roles. I used to ask what to do today, the answer I used to get was, whatever you do! Then this thought started nagging in my mind that I don’t just have to do this, I have to do more things too. I cannot eat dal and rice every day, sometimes I want puri bhaji also. Let me do it, if I can’t do it then tell me.
Ali has appeared in many films
Let us tell you that due to these reasons, Ali Asgar left The Kapil Sharma Show in the year 2017, where he played the role of ‘Grandmother’. Ali started his career with the TV show ‘Kahani Ghar Ghar Kii’ and has also worked in films, which include films like Partner, Tees Maar Khan, Judwaa 2 and Shehzada.
