Actress Sanya Malhotra, who entered Bollywood with the blockbuster film ‘Dangal’ in 2016, is today a shining star in the film industry. Describing her journey so far as ‘dream-like’, Sanya has said that she is extremely grateful for the opportunities that have given her recognition as an artiste. The film is Rao and his wife Patralekha’s first offering as producers through ‘Kampa Films’. The story is based on a miser who wants to get back his ‘toaster’ gifted to him after his marriage breaks up. Sanya is playing the role of a miser’s wife in the film. “Ten years… this (journey) feels like a dream. It has been wonderful, satisfying and I am very grateful for the opportunities that I have got,” Sanya told PTI. The actress said that although she has worked with Rajkummar Rao in ‘Hit: The First Case’ and ‘Ludo’, this is the first time that they spent so much time working together. Raj called me and told me that we were making a film and even before reading the script, I had said, ‘Absolutely’. If he (Rao) is associated with some project then it will be good. This is our third film together. In the first one (‘Hit’) I was just in a suitcase. In the second (‘Ludo’) we were not together. So I was very keen to work with Raj because we all know what a brilliant actor he is and so it was the perfect opportunity.” Rajkummar Rao said that Sanya has given her best comic role till date in ‘Toaster’.
