Amitabh Bachchan pays tribute to Asha Bhosle
Big B, as he is fondly called, wrote in his blog post, “Condolence and sorrow.” He further wrote, “An entire era… an incredible… an extraordinary, wonderful, singular personality… was lost yesterday… the iconic, legendary Asha Bhosle ji left us… deeply saddened.”

He further added, “His versatility in giving life to every song he lent his voice to… has passed away… and left us an entire encyclopedia of eternal music… his body has left us… but his soul will always be with us… his voice – his soul, will always be immortal.” Take a look:
The last rites of veteran playback singer Asha Bhosle will be performed at Mumbai’s Shivaji Park on Monday, with the rituals taking place at 4 pm. His mortal remains are being kept at his residence in Lower Parel, where family members and celebrities from the world of entertainment, sports and politics – including Neil Nitin Mukesh, Meena Mangeshkar, Sachin Tendulkar, Tabu, Asha Parekh, Jackie Shroff, Javed Ali and A.R. Rahman – reached there to pay his last respects.

According to her family and the doctors who treated her, Asha Bhosle died on Sunday, April 12 in Mumbai due to multiple organ failure. A day before, he was admitted to Breach Candy Hospital due to chest infection and extreme fatigue, his granddaughter Zanai Bhosle said on Instagram.
