Before Mrunal was cast, Shruti Haasan had shot some scenes for Dacoit.

However, things did not go as planned, and according to reports, she left the film due to creative differences, after which Mrunal Thakur was cast in her place.
In February 2024, Shruti Haasan posted an adorable selfie with her co-star Adivi Shesh and wrote, “It’s always great to be around this ‘thangam’ (man like gold) Sheshu ma @adivisesh.” Re-sharing it on her Instagram Stories, Adivi Shesh wrote, “Can’t wait for #Dacoit to start, lovely @shrutzhaasan.”

The special thing is that in the film, Adivi Shesh is playing the character of Haridas, who falls in love with Juliet. Mrunal Thakur plays the character of Saraswati, also known as Juliet. In the film’s official trailer, viewers learn that an angry prisoner seeks revenge against his ex-girlfriend who cheated on him.

On the professional front, Shruti Haasan was last seen in Rajinikanth and Nagarjuna Akkineni’s action thriller Coolie. Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, the film received mixed reviews from critics upon its release.
