Kavita Kaushik, known for her different style in the TV industry, does not need any identity. Even today Kavita wants to do different types of roles. Kavita Kaushik had gained a lot of popularity by playing the role of Chandramukhi Chautala in the show FIR.

But, now she wants to get out of her stereotypical role and explore something new. According to Kavita, after 30-35, actresses do not get much to do. These days, Kavita is making headlines for her web series Kaptaan, in which she is playing the role of a policeman.

TV gave me everything

Kavita said in a recent interview that roles still matter to her. The actress further said, ‘Given my personality, do I really think that there is any role left for me on TV? If there is one, I would definitely like to do it. Neither do I look like a mother-in-law nor an ideal daughter-in-law. Those roles are not for me. TV has given me everything, I had come from Rajasthan to work in this big city, whatever I thought, TV has given me everything.

Kavita Kaushik got worried while playing the role of Chandramukhi Chautala? She said- Sometimes my heart also breaks.

Talking about this, Kavita further said, ‘It has given so much popularity, such audiences, who love it so much till date. I want to work on TV. But there are no roles for 30-35 year old women. There they directly make the mother-in-law to add poison to the daughter-in-law’s life. These characters won’t take me seriously.

Kavita said that this is why she agreed to work in the Kaptaan web series. The actress said, ‘I used to tell my husband many times that I want to play a role like the villains do in films. He said that such a thing does not happen, such roles may be available in the future. Got that opportunity in this show. Even today, when I go out, people call me Chandramukhi Chautala, I feel happy. This role overshadows my other works, although I have also done many Punjabi films.

Kavita further said, ‘It was a bit suffocating for me, the image of Chandramukhi Chautala had to be broken. If she had not done so, she would have been stereotyped. In the last 20 years, many police roles have been offered, even if it is just one scene. Many times the heart breaks because one has to say no. When this show also came, I felt that I will not say no. But, when told about the role, I have to do it, even if I don’t get the money.
