Before R Madhavan played the Intelligence Bureau chief/director in Dhurandhar, Paresh Rawal played the role, based on Ajit Doval, in Aditya Dhar’s directorial debut Uri: The Surgical Strikes (2019). A fan responded on X (formerly Twitter) praising Rawal’s acting in the film. Now the veteran actor has responded to this praise.

An Reposting the picture, the actor jokingly wrote, “Yes, did not smoke cigarettes, but definitely broke the phone (laughing emoji).”

Mention of smoking. Madhavan’s dhurandhar appears to be a direct reference to his character in the film, in which he was seen lighting a cigarette in almost every scene. The film, directed by Ranveer Singh, stars actor Ajay Sanyal as the Chief/Director of the Intelligence Bureau, and it is not yet clear whether the character is based on India’s National Security Advisor Ajit Doval or not. Paresh Rawal has praised the Dhurandhar franchise a lot since its release.

A few days ago, the veteran actor got into a heated argument with an RJ over his opinion on the film directed by Aditya Dhar. RJ shared a sarcastic review of Dhurandhar 2 on his Facebook account. On this the Hera Pheri actor wrote that your job as an idiot reporter is confirmed. No one wants this.” RJ corrected him and wrote, “Get your facts straight. I am not a reporter. You are just an actor, who is far away from his art in real life.
