February 2026 Box Office: The month of February was very disappointing in terms of box office earnings. According to the February box office report released by Ormax Media, among the top 5 highest grossing films, three films are from South Industry and two from Bollywood.

The total gross collection for the month of February at the Indian box office was Rs 427 crore, which is much less than January’s Rs 1314 crore. This is the first time since 2023 that the earning figure in February has been below Rs 500 crore, making it the weakest month of the last few years.

‘O’ Romeo’ leads in earnings, Tamil films dominate

Shahid Kapoor’s film ‘O’ Romeo’ has earned the highest among the films released in February. This film collected around Rs 74 crore at the box office.

Thai Kizhavi: At second place is the low budget Tamil comedy film ‘Thai Kizhavi’, which earned Rs 70 crore. Directed by Shivakumar Murugesan, the film stars Radhika Sarathkumar in the lead role and is still running in theatres.

The Kerala Story 2: At third place in the list was the Bollywood film ‘The Kerala Story 2: Goes Beyond’, which did a business of Rs 55 crore at the box office.

With Love: At number four was the Tamil romantic-comedy ‘With Love’ directed by Madan, which collected Rs 37 crores. This film starring Abhishan Jeevinth and Anaswara Rajan is streaming in theaters as well as on Netflix.

Vishnu Vinyasam: At fifth place is Tamil film ‘Vishnu Vinyasam’, which earned Rs 15 crore. Sri Vishnu and Nayan Sarika are in lead roles in this film directed by Yadunath Maruti Rao.

Sunny Deol’s film ‘Border 2’ was released in January and due to this the collection has been good. Whereas in February, Shahid Kapoor’s film ‘O Romeo’ could not collect the collection as expected. The total box office collection of the year 2026 so far has been Rs 1741 crore, which is 24% less than that of 2025.

However, trade experts have higher expectations from the month of March. The film ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’ has been released in March and it is predicted that this film can earn up to Rs 1500 crore. Trade experts are hopeful that ‘Dhurandhar 2’ will make up for the losses so far.
