Actor-dancer Nora Fatehi has spoken on the ongoing controversy regarding the song ‘Sarke Chunar Teri Sarke’ from her upcoming Kannada film ‘KD – The Devil’. He clarified that he had no knowledge about the Hindi version, due to which people were angry.Recently, there was a lot of uproar over the obscene lyrics and choreography of this song, and its Hindi version was heavily criticized online. The matter escalated so much that the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting had to assure Parliament that this song had been banned. Seeing the anger of the people, the makers of the film removed the Hindi version of this song from YouTube. Nora shared a video message expressing her views on this controversy. In the caption of this video, he described himself as different from the controversial version of the song.

She wrote, “I wouldn’t want anyone to think that I support this song. Thank you for your criticism, because because of this pressure, fortunately the makers of the film have removed this song.” Along with this, he also appealed to his fans to stop sharing this song online.

She further said, “I would also request all of you to stop sharing this song, because by doing so you are unnecessarily spreading it to more people.” Meanwhile, Nora also criticized the personal attacks being made on her during this controversy. She said, “One more thing, I see that some of you are taking advantage of this opportunity to attack my character. This is very sad.”

‘I shot this song three years ago in Kannada language’

In this video, Nora told that she had shot this song in Kannada language three years ago, and at that time she had said yes to doing it considering it to be a part of a bigger project.
She said, “Hi friends, I am here to talk to you guys about the ongoing controversy surrounding this song… First of all, I would like to tell you that I am currently in the grief of losing a very close friend of mine, due to which I could not see what was going on.” He further said that he came to know about this matter recently due to network problem.
Elaborating further, she said, “I shot this song in Kannada three years ago. When I said yes to doing it, it was part of a very big film. I also had a very big personality in it, Sanjay Dutt – who can refuse to work with him? I thought it was a remake of a famous song.”He insisted that he had no knowledge of the Hindi version of the song, which later led to so much criticism.
 

Protests and industry reactions

This controversy started when the makers released the song ‘Sarke Chunar’ in many languages ​​including Hindi. While the Kannada version did not receive much scrutiny initially, the Hindi version was criticized for its obscene lyrics and scenes.
Many celebrities and organizations including Armaan Malik, All India Cine Workers Association and National Human Rights Commission condemned the song. Lyricist Raqib Alam also said that he had warned in advance about possible censorship issues.

Release of the film on time

Nora Fatehi will be seen opposite Sanjay Dutt in the film ‘KD: The Devil’ directed by Prem and it is scheduled to release in theaters on April 30. Despite the ongoing controversy, the film is still on schedule.
