Whenever the name of comedy films is mentioned in the Hindi film industry, the name of director Priyadarshan comes to everyone’s mind. Very few people are able to make comedy films like him. In his filmmaking career so far, he has made many great films.
Even today the audience likes to watch the old films made by him. Priyadarshan has made many revelations in a recent interview given to Pinkvilla. He said, ‘To be honest, now I like making serious films. Now I don’t like making comedy films, now I make them out of compulsion.
The flop of these films had a huge impact
I feel like I have no new ideas left. I am finished now. I don’t want to repeat what I have done before. I will just make one more comedy film, and then that’s it. In this interview, Priyadarshan told that his films Dhol released in 2007 and Khatta Meetha released in 2010 proved to be huge flops at the box office.
He told that it affected him emotionally. He said that now he is happy because after OTT streaming this film has found its audience. Priyadarshan said that he liked both his films very much. He felt that this film would be a hit at the box office also.
But, this could not happen. Priyadarshan said that now I feel happy when I see that Virat Kohli and others say that they watch the film Dhol to relax before their cricket matches. Not only this, he also repeats the dialogues of the film a lot.
However, Virat Kohli has not said anything publicly about this. But both have worked together. Actually, Priyadarshan had directed an ad for IPL franchise Royal Challengers Bangalore. Virat Kohli, Shane Watson and Chris Gayle were seen in it. During that time, Priyadarshan liked Virat Kohli’s acting very much.
