Arijit Singh, who made the world crazy with his velvety voice, has broken his silence after announcing his retirement from ‘playback singing’ in the film industry. On Tuesday evening, he shared a note on his official ‘X’ (formerly Twitter) handle, in which he not only thanked his fans but also gave an update on his future plans. Arijit clarified that even though he has stopped taking up new projects, he already has several songs pending which are yet to be released.

Arijit Singh says his incomplete songs will keep releasing until they are completed
In his post, Arijit Singh clarified that he has stopped taking new assignments and has a lot of songs to complete, writing, “This message is only for my listeners, if you are not my listener then please don’t read this now and don’t swipe, this is a humble request. Hello dear people! I just want to tell you all that I love you. Thank you so much for your kindness in this cruel world. Thank you. Although I have stopped taking new assignments, the list of pending songs is not short, you know. I have a lot of songs to complete.”

He further added, “Don’t bother trying to convince people, how many times will you do it? There are so many unfinished songs, they will keep releasing until they are completed. Maybe this whole year. Maybe it will be next year too. Be at peace. Try to get out of this platform. Remove spike protein from your body, give up 5g, make love and meditate. Jai Devi! (sic).” Commenting on his post, he wrote, “And who knows what’s going to happen next!.”
Arijit Singh announces retirement from playback singing
For those who don’t know, National Film Award winner Arijit Singh announced his retirement through a social media post on January 27, 2026. In his message, he wrote, “Hello, Happy New Year everyone. I want to thank you all for giving me so much love over so many years. I am happy to say that I will not be taking any new assignments as a playback vocalist from now on. I am calling it quits. It was a wonderful journey.”
He also said, “God has been very kind to me. I am a fan of good music and will learn more as a small artist in the future and do more work on my own. Thanks again for all your support. I still have some pending commitments to complete, I will complete them. So maybe you will get some releases this year. Just make it clear that I will not stop making music.”
