Recently, the news of missing girls in Delhi had gained momentum on social media. Delhi Police on Friday denied these reports and termed them as rumours. The police made a shocking claim that these news were being spread through paid promotion. After this, a discussion started on social media whether this is any part of the promotion of Rani Mukherjee’s upcoming film ‘Mardaani 3’?
Yash Raj Films gave clarification
Responding to these serious allegations, Yash Raj Films spokesperson made it clear that he has nothing to do with this controversy. He said, ‘Yash Raj Films is a 50 year old reputed company which is based on principles and honesty. We strongly oppose the allegations that any sensitive issue has been misused for the promotion of ‘Mardaani 3’. The makers further said that they have full faith in the administration and soon the truth will be revealed to everyone.

Strict warning from Delhi Police
Delhi Police wrote on its official Police have warned that spreading panic among the public due to greed for money will not be tolerated. Strict legal action will be taken against those running such fake campaigns.

Allaying people’s concerns, the police clarified that there has been no unusual jump in the number of people going missing in 2026. The trend is stable as in previous years (average 2,000 cases per month). Last year in 2025, there were reports of about 24,500 people missing, out of which the police is continuously working to find people.
