A very sad news has emerged from the global music world. Veteran musician John Forté, who worked with iconic bands like ‘Fugees’ and was nominated for a Grammy Award, has passed away at the age of 50. According to information given by the police, John Forte was found dead at his private residence in Chilmark, Massachusetts on Monday afternoon.

According to Slavin, the state medical examiner’s office is investigating the case. Forte, a native of New York City, had prodigious musical talent. He rose to fame at the age of 20, working on the Fugees’ Grammy-winning album The Score and Wyclef Jean’s Grammy-nominated album ‘The Carnival’. He was adept in playing many instruments. Her solo albums Pauly C and I John were also released, featuring other artists including Carly Simon.

He was arrested at Newark International Airport in 2000 on charges of possession of liquid cocaine and drug trafficking. Forte was sentenced to 14 years in prison, but his sentence was commuted by then-President George W. Bush.
