Pop star Taylor Swift contributed $100,000 to a GoFundMe campaign in support of Lilah, a two-year-old girl who is suffering from stage 4 brain cancer. The donation came after a viral video posted by Lilah’s mother, Caitlin Smoot, showed Lilah enjoying Swift’s music.The campaign for Lilah’s treatment, launched in March, received a major boost from Swift’s involvement and message. The family appeal and Lilah’s connection to Swift immediately caught people’s attention, leading to widespread support online.

According to Rolling Stone, Lilah was diagnosed after suffering a stroke. Caitlin Smoot explained that Lilah had “a very rare aggressive type of brain cancer.” Treatment included surgery, chemotherapy and a long hospital stay.
The family wrote: “[एमआरआई और एलपी] After, he will be given 6 weeks of proton radiation, for which our family [फिलाडेल्फिया के चिल्ड्रन हॉस्पिटल] Will have to go. We’ll be a few hundred miles from home. All the donations we receive will help us cover travel expenses and bills as we are still unemployed during Lila’s treatment.”
The news came to light when Caitlyn posted a video in which Lilah points to the screen while watching a Taylor Swift video and says, “That’s my friend!” Caitlyn further revealed that her daughter calls the singer her “friend” while watching Swift’s video on her iPad. The post was liked by many and Swifties and the general public sent supportive messages.

Taylor Swift left a message with her donation: “Lots of love to my friend Lilah! Taylor, love.” Their GoFundMe contribution brought the family’s total raised to nearly US$60,000 more than their original goal and led to further contributions from fans around the world.
Caitlin Smoot expressed gratitude, saying the donation will allow them to “focus on being here with their daughter.” In another video, she wrote, “Is this real life?” And thanked Swift directly: “Thank you so much @taylorswift. I’m in shock. It means so much to us. Tyler [लिलाह के पिता] And I will now be able to focus on my daughter and being together as a family.”
Following Swift’s donation, fans contributed in Swift’s honor, some adding up to US$13 with their favorite song. Caitlyn summed up the family’s reaction this way: “Taylor Swift, we thank you beyond words. Now we can focus on being here with our baby girl. Seriously, we’re so grateful for you. You have no idea what this means to our family.”
