Actually, Junaid Khan’s film ‘Maharaj’ is going to be released on OTT platform Netflix on June 14. This film is made under the Yash Raj banner. Junaid is going to make his Bollywood debut with this film. There is a lot of controversy regarding this film even before its release. According to media reports, Bajrang Dal has expressed objection to this film and demanded to ban it.
He says that an attempt has been made to show a negative image of sadhus in the film. Not only this, he has also demanded the makers to hold the screening of the film. Now a boycott trend has started on social media X regarding this.
Why is the demand to ban the film rising?
The film makers had recently shared the first look of ‘Maharaj’. However, the trailer or teaser of the film was not released yet. The story of the film Maharaj is said to be based on a true incident. Junaid Khan and Jaideep Ahlawat will be seen opposite each other in this. The film is based on the Maharaj Libel Case of 1862. In the film, Junaid has played the role of journalist and social reformer Karsandas Mulji. Whereas, Jaideep Ahlawat is seen playing the role of Jadunathji Brijartanji Maharaj.
