People know Saurabh Raj Jain less than his name and more than Krishna of TV. In ‘Mahabharata’, the actor played a great fan following from his talent in a very short time. Recently, Saurabh spoke about the beginning of his acting career. He told that he never thought that he would become an actor. His mother always wanted to see him as a lawyer.
In the recent podcast with Ranveer Allahabadia, Saurabh Raj Jain said- ‘I think she (mother) ever wanted me to become an actor. I come from a lawyer’s family. My mother is a lawyer, my Nanu was a lawyer. So he never thought that I would become an actor. He never thought I would become an actor and became.
Mother wanted to make Saurabh a lawyer
Saurabh further said- ‘For a long time, I did not come to Mumbai and did not have Mahabharata or even after that I always used to say that you do not do law, you should do law. She used to say this to me, meaning one of my shows ended and a show ends. So you do not know that you will get less next show. There is a waiting period at that time. So whatever is the waiting period, the housemates become very like this, man, the child is not doing anything. At that time my mother always used to say that you are waiting, but I do not fill the form of your law somewhere, do it together.
This is how the first audition was given
Saurabh also tells about the beginning of his acting career during this period. He says- ‘I came to Mumbai in 2004, for the remix show. The second year of college was when the selection took place. I remember Srishti Di who is the producer of daily audio visuals, the Goldie Belt Sister. He took my first audition. The way the audition took place there, I still think that if a script is being written.
The actor says- ‘I went to audition with my friend who wanted to act. Both of us used to go to college together and he said to me, man, today I have an audition, you walk together and I went with him. Srishti Di looked at me there and said that why did you not audition, I said to him, I do not know about the audition. I had no idea how the audition is given. So I said what is that? He gave a paper that these are lines, remember it, just speak in front of the camera. So I read the lines and I said okay.
Phone came after two months of audition
Saurabh remembers the day of his first audition and says- ‘In college, oil used to be installed in hair many times. So oil was also installed that day. Srishti Di, in the hotel where she came, she took me to the washroom of the room there and said that shampoo it first here. Your hair will dry and then you will audition. I said that this is also right, let’s do it. And just the journey started from there. Two months later, the call came and when the call came, then it felt that TRAI should be done.
Parents were not getting permission for acting
Saurabh says- ‘At that time it was a big thing to come to such TV at that time. Meaning whether it is probably now at that time or not, I do not know but at that time there was a big thing. I thought there is a chance that it should not be left by hand. Parents were not giving permission. But somewhere my heart was saying that one should not try once. If the call has come, then one should go once. I think it was lucky and I came to Mumbai like this.
