Sudha Shivpuri was born on 14 July 1937 in Indore, Madhya Pradesh. His childhood was not like ordinary children at all. When she was eight years old, her father’s shadow was raised from her head. The father’s death completely changed his life. The mother’s health started deteriorating and all the responsibility of the house came on Sudha’s shoulders. School studies were going on, but the situation was such that he had to think about earnings too. In the year 1968, Sudha married Om Shivpuri. After this, both of them started a theater group ‘Dishantar’ in Delhi. The group did brilliant plays like ‘Tughlaq’, ‘Half incomplete’, and ‘Khamosh: Adalat Hai’. All these plays were directed by Om Shivpuri, while Sudha played the lead role. Meanwhile, husband Om Shivpuri received an offer for acting from Mumbai and both shifted to Mumbai. In the era of 70-80, Om Shivpuri was seen playing many characters in Bollywood. Sudha started her film journey in 1977. He made his Bollywood debut through Basu Chatterjee’s film ‘Swami’. After this, he worked in films like ‘Insaaf Ka scabi’, ‘Hamari Bahu Alka’, ‘Vidhata’, ‘Maya Memsab’, ‘Sawan Ko Aa Aaye’, ‘Sun Meri Laila’, ‘Burning Train’, and ‘Pinjar’. Ekta Kapoor, the famous TV producer affected by Sudha’s acting, gave her the tag of ‘Walking Emotion’ with love in an interview. ‘Walking emotion’ means ‘passion on moving’. Sudha also worked in TV serials like ‘Shik Ka Ghar’, ‘Kasam Se’, ‘Santoshi Maa’, and ‘Kis Desh Mein Hai Mera Dil’. But the character of ‘Ba’ was so strong that Sudha Shivpuri was remembered by the same name forever. In 2014, Sudha Shivpuri suffered a heart attack, and since then her health started deteriorating.
