In an interview with Bollywood Hungama, casting director Mukesh Chhabra told that the role of Rahman Dacoit was first offered to three different actors, but all of them refused to do it. One of these actors was from South Industry and two were from Bollywood. Although he did not take anyone’s name, he said that those actors rejected the role by giving strange reasons. He said that this is a multi-starrer film and it was being called Ranveer Singh’s film, hence he did not show interest in it.

Mukesh told that he felt a little bad about this because a lot of consideration is given before selecting any actor. After this he thought about Akshaye Khanna. The special thing was that Akshay immediately heard the script and said yes to the film in a single day.
