God bless you all.”

What’s happening in the Iran-Israel-US conflict, and why is it affecting the UAE? The current blockage comes after growing hostility between Iran, Israel and the US. This escalated following US-Israeli joint strikes on Iranian targets in late February, leading to retaliatory missile and drone attacks on US bases in parts of the Gulf.

Due to the increasing conflict, many countries in the region have imposed restrictions on airspace and stopped flights, due to which major transit hubs like Dubai have been badly affected. As one of the world’s busiest international travel gateways, Dubai has faced widespread flight cancellations, rerouting and reduced operations, leaving thousands of passengers stranded, while airlines and officials assess the security risks in the region’s airspace, especially after Iranian missile and drone attacks targeting US-linked assets and infrastructure in the Gulf, with some incidents and debris reported in the UAE.
