Saurabh Shukla spoke openly about films, theater and his life experiences in one of his interviews. He told that making a film is not an easy task at all, because just writing the script does not make the film. Many times a story remains lying around for years and unless a producer trusts it and invests money, the film cannot be made. According to him, filmmaking is a huge economic task and it involves the hard work and cooperation of many people. Describing the story of his film, he said that one day one of his students had narrated some scenes to him and during that conversation, the idea of a funny conflict came to him. Later he took the same idea forward and first made a play on it. When the audience liked that play, the same story was later converted into a film. Saurabh Shukla also told the reason behind his entry into theater in a funny manner. He said that when he went to see the theater for the first time, there were very confident and educated girls and many ordinary looking boys too. He felt that ideas are valued here, so perhaps there might be a place for them here too. This journey, which started as a joke, gradually became a passion for him and then he truly fell in love with theatre. However, he also clearly said that making a career in theater is not easy, because it pays less. If one just wants to earn money then theater is a difficult path, but if one has true passion and love for art then theater is the most beautiful place. He also told that initially his dream was not to become an actor but to become a writer and director. His friend, who played a small role in a play, was not able to perform the character properly, so he performed it. When people praised his acting, he realized that he had this ability and from there his acting journey started. Explaining the difference between theater and films, he said that in the theatre, the audience sitting in front reacts immediately, whereas the camera is completely different. The camera is like a silent eye that captures only the truth, so the most important thing in film acting is truth and honesty of emotions. During the interview, he also shared his experience of working with many big actors and especially said about Shah Rukh Khan that he is a very charismatic person. When he talks to someone, the other person feels as if he is the most important person in this world. This is his most special quality that he creates a true connection with people. In the end, Saurabh Shukla advised young filmmakers and artists that there is no fixed method in art. The most important thing is that a person should be honest in his work, not be afraid of taking risks and have fun while working. According to him, one who is afraid of losing can never win, hence keeping trying is the real key to success.
