Raj Kapoor’s ancestral mansion is located in Peshawar, Pakistan, which is 100 years old. But its condition has become quite dilapidated. In such a situation, now information is coming out about this mansion that a part of it has collapsed. Due to the earthquake and rain late on Friday night, a wall of the ancestral mansion of the Kapoor family collapsed. The Government of Pakistan had declared it a national heritage in the year 2016. This mansion is a cultural heritage of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
Now the administration has expressed concern over the dilapidated condition of Raj Kapoor’s ancestral mansion. The collapse of a part of this mansion has been confirmed by Shakeel Wahidullah, Secretary of the Heritage Council. Speaking to PTI, he said that a part of the wall of the mansion collapsed after the earthquake. The Secretary has warned about the safety of the remaining structures. The Archeology Department and the provincial government were also requested to take immediate steps to conserve the historical building. So that the cultural heritage is not damaged.
The ancestral mansion of the Kapoor family is 100 years old
Regarding Raj Kapoor’s ancestral mansion, it is said that it was constructed by Dada Diwan Basheswarnath and he was a police officer in Pakistan itself. If reports are to be believed, it was constructed between 1918 and 1922. Raj Kapoor’s father Prithviraj Kapoor started his acting journey from this mansion. Raj was also born here. It has 40 rooms. After the partition between India and Pakistan, the Kapoor family left the mansion and settled in Mumbai.

There was a plan to build a museum
If reports are to be believed, some time ago information had come to light regarding this 100 year old mansion of the Kapoor family that plans are being made to convert it into a museum. The Government of Pakistan wants to get this mansion repaired, which will be converted into a museum. However, now a part of it has collapsed and till now there is no information given in the reports whether it will be repaired now or not.
