Well-known South Indian film actress Trisha Krishnan has taken a strong stance on the personal and “indecent” remarks made against her by Tamil Nadu BJP chief Nainar Nagendran. On Trisha’s name being used to target actor-turned-politician Vijay, the actress has made it clear that any kind of disrespect will not be tolerated. The controversy started when BJP leader Nainar Nagendran mocked Vijay’s political ambitions. Responding to Vijay’s party ‘Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam’ (TVK)’s claim of challenging the DMK in the upcoming assembly elections, Nagendran said, “Poor man, he is completely inexperienced. First he should come out of his own house. First come out of Trisha’s house, then something can happen.”

Trisha responded to the incident by posting a statement on His legal advisor, Nithish Nataraj, issued a formal statement expressing his disappointment and clarifying his position on the issue without naming Nainar Nagendran.
The statement read, “My client (Trisha) never expected that such a bad and wrong thing would be said by a person holding a high position in the political world of the state.”
Further in the statement, Trisha’s legal advisor reiterated her political neutrality, saying that “she is not associated with any political party nor does she intend to do so.” The statement also clarified that the actor has always taken a neutral stand when it comes to politics.

Emphasizing her professional identity, the statement read, “My client wishes to be recognized solely for her work and not for any stated political alignment. Furthermore, and most importantly, it is a common adage that personal life should never be the subject of public commentary or conversation, and it is expected that people in high positions maintain responsibility and balance in public discourse.”“It is requested that my client’s name not be dragged into matters that have nothing to do with him,” the statement concluded.

Responding to Vijay’s claim that his political party, Tamilaga Vetri Kazhagam (TVK), will be the lone challenger to the DMK in the assembly elections, BJP’s Nainar Nagendran mocked Vijay and said the actor is someone “who can’t even climb on the roof, he is dreaming of climbing to heaven.”The BJP leader said laughingly, “Poor man, he has no experience at all. First he should come out of his own house. First come out of Trisha’s house, then something can happen.”
The BJP chief also said that Vijay should maintain good relations with his family and the movement of great leaders should communicate properly. His comments sparked controversy, sparking a debate on dragging personal matters to defame a political leader.When later questioned about his comments, Nagendran stood by his statement and refused to retract it, although he said, “I only said it once.”
