Mohanlal, who is promoting his upcoming film ‘L2: Emoran’, went to Sabarimala to pray on 18 March. During “Usha Puja”, he gave a note to the priest in which the name of Mamutti’s birth was mentioned by Muhammad Kutti and his birth Nakshatra ‘Visakham’. A receipt issued by the Devaswom Office went viral on social media, mentioning the above mentioned, in which a section of users described it as an example of communal harmony. However, another class said that Mamooty is a Muslim and Hindu prayers violate Islamic beliefs. Seeing this dispute, it increased a lot.
Javed Akhtar defends Mohanlal-Mamooti
Bollywood lyricist and screenwriter Javed Akhtar supported Mohanlal and Mamuti in the Sabarimala Puja controversy. In an X post, Akhtar praised Mohanlal and Mammooty’s friendship and took a dig at those ‘narrow mindset’ and ‘trivial’ people who are creating such a big controversy about someone’s faith that they are ignoring their friendship and brotherhood. A section of people was angry with the fact that Mohanlal worshiped for his Muslim friend at the Sabarimala temple.

Criticized people trivial in Sabarimala Puja dispute
Javed Akhtar wrote in his X post, “I want every Mamooti in India to have a friend like Mohan Lal and every Mohan Lal has a friend like Mamuti.
