Entertainment Desk, Indore. Maharaj Movie Controversy: Aamir Khan’s son Junaid Khan was about to make his Bollywood debut with his film ‘Maharaj’, but even before its release, there is a lot of controversy regarding the film. This film, which will be released on Netflix, has been accused of hurting religious sentiments. The film was scheduled to release on June 14, but Gujarat High Court had put a temporary stay on its release.
The latest news is that on Thursday the High Court judge can watch the film and give his verdict on it. The High Court had said in the last hearing that they would watch the film after the suggestions of Yash Raj Films and Netflix. Justice Sangeeta Vishen will watch the film in the court premises on Thursday.
Junaid has played the role of a journalist in the film.
The film ‘Maharaj’ is directed by Siddharth P. Malhotra. At the same time, it has been made under the banner of Yash Raj Films. Let us tell you that this film is based on the Maharaj defamation case of 1862. This is one of the legal battles which had a deep impact on the history of India. In this case, a journalist had raised questions on the Vallabhacharya sect.
The court will watch the film today
The court has said that it will watch the film only in the interest of justice. Only after this can a decision be given regarding the film. The petitioners have objected that condemnable and derogatory language has been used in some parts of the film. At the same time, senior Supreme Court advocate Mukul Rohatgi, appearing on behalf of Netflix, said that the film has received the certificate from the Central Board of Certification. A book on this has also been published in 2013. After getting approval from the Censor Board, no objection of any kind should be raised about the film.
